Towards the end of last week....things turned into a blur...in a good way though :D
I meant to do a post on what my weekend was bringing but I got caught up in trying to get ready for the weekend and time slipped away from me.
So here it is!
My weekend! :)
Friday morning, my friend Sunny and I headed for Searcy, Arkansas a little after 8 am.
Why?
ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) South Central Career Day!
I should probably start by saying that this is the farthest that I have ever actually driven myself. It was definitely a new experience. Not only was this just a career day, we were also given the opportunity to enter projects for competition. We arrived in Searcy around 2 and checked into our hotel. Harding university hosted the event. The campus was beautiful. They wanted to give everyone the opportunity to mingle since Saturday would be busy and full of things to do, so they held a mixer Friday night.
Saturday morning I got up at 5:30.....I get excited...and when I am excited I do things early hehe...
So at 6:15ish all I had left to do was put my dress clothes on. Instead I waited on 7, so I could get breakfast in the lobby....then I got dressed, packed, and checked out.
Sunny and I got to the campus early and got our projects registered. I entered a photograph into the creative design portion of the event, a hand rendering, and my Studio II project from last semester. After, that the day seemed to fly by. The ending portion of the event was at 3:30 or so....and we waited for the awards ceremony........ drum roll please.... hehe ;)
I was very very excited when they called my name! I received second place with my photography project and also received second place with my Studio II project. **happy dance** :D :D
In fact, the Mississippi State group took home quiet a few awards (we dominated just a little bit). I am very thankful to be part of such a talented group of people!
This morning when I saw my Studio II professor, I was like.....High Five!
....I kid you not ;)
See you tomorrow!
Smile :)
