Life Lately

4th of July weekend I took a trip out west to visit this guy.

He is currently working in Nevada & picked me up at the airport in Salt Lake City.

My parents are adventurers (so I was no doubt born to be one myself). We went out west a few times when I was younger. I remember loving it then. Nothing has changed.

I was all two year old....whoa pretty mountains.....the whole time. I would take pictures then turn to him and say this just doesn't work you can't capture this beauty in an image. He would just smile at me <<< he knows I am an crazy one.

I love adventuring and finding new things especially when I get to adventure with someone who enjoys adventuring just as much as I do.

all of that white stuff around me is salt!

I was so amazed.
you may be wondering if I tasted it....
and if you weren't wondering well I suppose now you may be thinking, "she tasted it"
if that's what you are thinking....I totally did.
it tasted....salty.
and all I could think about was how badly I needed a tomato at the time.

We had an awesome weekend. It included: a waterfall, snow, and one heck of a hiking trip that took a total of 5 hours >>> and then we had some of the best pizza that I have ever put in my mouth >>> we might have had ice cream after (I'll never ever tell).

technically this was a late post, but I felt it necessary to catch everyone up on the adventures I've been on lately.

I'm out for the night.

smile people :)

Century Plant

There are many things I love.

...like things that make me crazy giddy like a two year old and things that cause me to stare in wonder.

I find it necessary to capture beautiful wonderful magical things......especially things that are one part Dr. Seuss, one part wonderland.

A few weeks ago my mom asked me to bring my camera home because my grandparents wanted me to take pictures of a neighbor's plant.

I have never been one to photograph lots of flowers and such but this was a little more than your average flower...
 It was a Century Plant.

I am beyond thankful for my family.
Reasons:
1. Supporting me in all my crazy endeavors.
2. Always keeping their eyes peeled for cool things for me to get in to.
3. This list could go on for days....but these are the important things that relate to this post ;)

My Papaw.
Just so you know he is a pretty tall guy.

So this is a Century Plant.
Supposedly this is it in full bloom and after this it will die.
The owners have two on their property and build little sheds around them every winter.
When they took the shed down that was protecting this one at the beginning of Spring....that thing (not even sure what to call it) shot straight up in a matter of days.
Crazy, I know.
Just another one of God's miracles.
I mean after all...He is the world's best inventor, artist, designer, etc.. ;)

 This is my favorite. :)

Fungus Among Us + Sunday Afternoon Adventure.

and a little behind the scenes ;)

I had a blast taking these pictures. It all started the day before when my mom sent me a text telling me to make sure and bring my camera home because there were really cool mushrooms popping up every where.
So after church we had ourselves a little adventure...beach towel for ground shots included....oh and laying in the middle of our gravel road as well.
Photography is my therapy.

Have a happy weekend.

The Senior...

I hope you aren't sick of pictures of my sister ;)
It's her senior year and I've done quite a few sessions with her now....
It's easy to practice using my camera with her because we're close and I'm not nervous around her.
She's beautiful and I love her....if you couldn't tell...hehe

I can't remember if I have mentioned this or not ,but she's moving in with me in August and well the least I can say is that I am very excited to be under the same roof as her again. I have a feeling it will be an adventure.

One of the chapter's in her book is coming to an end...
and I am proud...
I have no idea where her story is going...
but I do know that she will always make the
scene she's in a little more beautiful.

Spring :)

 Once upon a time....
and then there was Spring. :)

I adore Spring and all things beautiful (except pollen).
Spring Break
Pretty Flowers
Pretty Dresses
Pink Nail Polish
Adorable Sandals
The Weather
Perfect Sunlight
Easter

All of these are underway and Easter is just around the corner. I adore Easter. From the Early morning church service, to dye stained finger tips.
Spring is beautiful. The weather forecast in heaven will always be Spring. I'm positive. ;D

I have an enormous urge to make something right now...I have no idea what though.

glad I snapped it....it's my favorite from the day.

I hope everyone is enjoying this day :)

this life is beautiful and random
silly and unbelievable
out of line and unruly
crazy and amazing

Brownie...

Sharpie/Pen Drawing of a Kodak Brownie

I drew this yesterday evening at work :) I can't take full credit for it....I was browsing the internet and saw a similar drawing and thought to myself, "hey! I can do that!"...
So, I did! :)

I wonder who came up with the idea to call a small Kodak camera a brownie???
I think it's pretty much adorable!

I am pretty sure I've posted this before, but I thought you might need some assistance in recognizing what that goofy little line drawing up top was ;)
Not to mention this picture just makes me really happy...
