Dallas and a Surprise :D

Wednesday thru Saturday of last week I went on an adventure with the Apparel, Textile, and Merchandising girls from MSU.

I took Fashion Merchandising as a fun extra to fill in a blank spot in my schedule, not knowing that it would present me with an awesome opportunity to explore Dallas!

....and explore is exactly what we did!

First, I just need to tell you to wear layers when traveling on a bus, bring a blanket, and a pillow....
I learned my lesson.

Day 1...When we first got to Dallas we went to IKEA! I have been dreaming of going to IKEA for a long time now and I was super excited to get the chance to go! I picked up the most adorable kitchen towels. >>>>
I also got an interesting little gadget thing (tension wire)to hang a tapestry that I have.

After IKEA, we checked into our hotel! La Meridien! Which was directly across from the Galleria in Dallas
It was for sure one of the most amazing malls that I have ever been to!

Day 2... Early morning, quick stop for breakfast, JC Penney World Headquarters.

I'm on the far left ;)

Day 3...was career day for the fashion girls. I enjoyed tagging along! I appreciate other designers even if they aren't doing interiors. Art is Art to me.
Awesome Elevator! I get excited....like a two year old ;)
*happy dance*

I made tons of new friends and we had an amazing time!
Career Day ended with an amazing fashion show.
All of the pieces shown were student designed and made....
some were breathtaking....

I have some from the trip but time is something that I don't have a lot of at the moment.
I must apologize and I will do better soon...I pinky promise
:)

Day 4...Another early morning.
Neiman Marcus!

I absolutely loved being there.
Sadly the very first Neiman Marcus burned, shortly after though they moved into the building that we had the honor of visiting. They have been there for over 100 years now. The interior is gorgeous and literally makes you feel like royalty.

While there I had the opportunity to try this on.....
but why would I try on a wedding dress??

I have a pretty good reason....
;)

;) I'm engaged!!!
I can't put into words how excited I am about this and I had no idea it was coming.

The Proposal (he had a camera set up to capture this amazing moment)
He works in North Carolina and I don't get to see him very often. I had no idea he was coming home and I definitely wasn't expecting him to get down on one knee ;)
You'll have to excuse my two year old like excitement but it's really real and I was that excited to see him...

We won't be tying the knot anytime too soon we're waiting for me to finish school.
So at least two more years... regardless we're excited and can't stop smiling.

Not to mention...I already have a million and 1 ideas running through my mind...

Smile
:)
