hey there lovely people.
I am currently completing school work for my summer course (so please bear with me).
Even though I "graduated" in May...I won't receive my diploma until the end of the summer.
The work I have done throughout the summer counts as my last 3 credit hours and there was a little bit of homework to go along with it. I should be done with most everything this week.
On September 5th I will give a final presentation about the projects I worked on over the summer. Tonight I am completing a PowerPoint that goes along with my presentation! Last little bit of school work forever (maybe-- for now anyways).
My realization the other day >>> for the first time since I was five years old I will not be going back to school this August.
That is a tad bit crazy.
One of those life plans (enters here): I plan to never stop learning and growing.
I don't necessarily mean I am going to go get an accounting degree (this girl is not the person you want to be accounting on). <<< that was corny -- don't judge me ;)
When I say I want to learn >>> I mean I want to always take the opportunities and risks. I want to truly live and not just let those certain moments of brilliance pass by.
I'll make a list of the current things bouncing around in my mind and get back to you and when those random opportunities pop up, I'll let you know.
For now, I have the last bit of college homework calling my name.
I'll leave you with a thought:

Done.
I don't even know what to consider my mood right now......I'm not even sure I am completely relieved yet....
After months of nothing but what felt like torture at times, I am finally done.
Studio II is behind me. Model built. Construction plans drawn. Two presentation boards designed and printed. Photos of model taken. Furniture and finish selections made.
Ten page paper written. (pulling teeth would've been easier)
Economics. (hopefully passed)
Final photography project being mounted as I type.
For the next couple of weeks I don't even want to think about school.......
I just want to relax. Go to the gym. Read a book. Make something awesome. Clean my bedroom. Clean my apartment. Waste time without feeling guilty about it.........ahhhhhhh the things college will do to you ;)
oh and of course..........I'll be blogging more regularly now :)
I promise they'll be better after today! I'm just kind of in a daze right now...... "is this really over".........

Catching up :)
It's Friday and I finally found a few extra moments.........
I must say that I have truly missed blogging and I promise that as soon as I can get a grip on my multiple final projects I will be back... :)
I've been busy busy and there's always something more to be done......
Two weeks until Thanksgiving break (which probably won't be too much of a break).... I'll be swamped with finishing up projects because the week after Thanksgiving, finals start and final presentations are scheduled......
but thennnnnnnnnnnnnnn................a whole month of NOOOOO school! yay!
I absolutely love Christmas time and spending time with my lovely family! :) I just hate that the times you enjoy so very much have to pass by so quickly......
So here are some pictures of what's been going on and stuff....... :)
So very happy that it's chilly now and I can wear my awesome yellow coat!
That button up I'm wearing underneath is the J Crew button up I thrifted a few weeks ago! I love it and it's super soft and comfy.....
This is....
how interesting shopping trips with my mom and sister can be......
(notice that her jeans and boots look like the wall landed on a person???)
......wouldn't trade shopping days with them for anything!
Sketches of the floor plan for the space I am designing.....
look familiar??
It's the same model that I hand built and the actual building that I posted pictures of a while back...
I drew this model in Google SketchUp..... :D
....and these are materials that I am thinking about using in the space! yay! fun! :)
This past Sunday I was inducted into an honor society (Phi Kappa Phi)...
I was super excited and honored.....even more so that my parents and sister got to share my special day with me (oh, and of course, my sister's sweet boyfriend....he took this picture)
There he is :)
......this is me after the ceremony.....and those are the cords I received from the honor society to wear when I graduate.....eventually.... :) :) :)
and yes I know I look crazy in this picture ;)
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend :)

Spring Schedule!
I apologize for my shadiness.... :D I promise I haven't forgotten about you guys!! :) :)
Life in general is rather crazy right now....the semester is winding down....and I just met with my advisor to figure out my schedule for the Spring semester....
Spring 2012
AutoCAD 3D----- This is how we create what we want a room to look like! very time consuming but looks amazing!
Studio Lighting-----This is another photography class!!! yay! I'm so excited :) I think I have two more to go after it and I'll have my minor!
***I have to wait until I pass portfolio review before I can take the rest of my interior design classes....So these two below are just for the heck of it :) :)
Fashion Merchandising------I'll keep you updated on this :D when I was little I started out wanting to be a fashion designer! somewhere along the way it changed to interior design....I imagine my adorable little store with some clothing anyways...so this added to the rest of my random knowledge should be great! :)
Interior Design Fundamentals----not a required course for interior design...this is a class for people who think they might be interested in interior design....i guess they can get their toes wet or whatever you wanna call it :) ....hmmm interior design sounds interesting I think I might be interested! hehehe ;)
I think I'll have plenty to keep everyone updated with next semester! :)
At the moment.......I am running on fumes.....my professor told me I needed 8 hours (of sleep)...I most definitely agree......
I will soon be making that happen :)

Day Dreaming....
I apologized in advance for the lack of blogging this week, but once again I am sorry. I've had a crazy hectic week and next week is looking about the same. I pulled an all nighter Wednesday night to finish a project. I never expected it to turn out that way but it was for the best.
My computer screen around 12:30....This is a program we use called illustrator it's somewhat like photoshop.
At least my all nighter consisted of something that I love to look at...color! But I have to say after 12 or so hours of working on a computer...my eyes and brain were give out...
Yesterday morning my studio class had to meet for a site visit at the Little Building Cafe that served as the basis for the study model I built last week. We took measurements and notes of things that would alter our final designs and what not.
I fell in love with this little building! If it were possible I would buy it today and open a store tomorrow! I can only hope and pray that something this right for me is available when I graduate from college. From its exposed brick to the funky tile flooring, it's absolutely perfect and very much so what I would want.
...would be adorable with a conglomeration of whimsical flower pots and random stuff out front!
at the moment the interior is set up to house a small little cafe like business....
I've always thought it would be neat to do a bakery type thing along with my other stuff...a set up like this would allow for that.
I love light fixtures like this!
Sky light! soooo pretty! This is pretty much an extra. I would love the building without it....with it just makes it that much better!
and finally to top it off.....this is the flooring!!!!
I love love love it!!!
This is a close up picture...the circular tiles are tiny!
ohhhh and one more thing to top off the awesomeness that this space has to offer...
there is a little apartment in the back!!!! I could live and work here....
Oh if I could only put into words how extremely happy it would make me to be able to call a place like this home and work! This would be a dream come true! :)
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! I have lots of work to do and bunches of pictures to take!
Smile big :) and enjoy this weather....

Pictures and Study Model
I hope everyone is having a wonderful Tuesday :) I'm a little sleepy...I've been keeping late hours to meet deadlines (life of an interior design student)...I love it :)
So I figured it out :) How to upload my pictures that is...
Snow Cone Stand, Fort Payne
Cheaha State Park, Alabama
Fort Payne Hotel
...Random
I am so very happy that I finally figured out how to upload my pictures to my laptop :) Even though it's time consuming.... The shots above are just a random few that I have taken recently. I played with a few of these in Photoshop.
........and tada! here is my almost finished study model!
Front
Precious little interior....(blank canvas!)
Side
Back door opening and windows...
The model is made out of foam core board and held together by pins. The scale of the model is 1/2" - 1-0'.
The Study model is actually a real building here in town.
Little Building Cafe
:)
I love it when a project starts coming together and I can really see it coming to life....that makes everything worth it.....
:) Smile big

studio....
Didn't want you guys to think that I'd forgotten about you............
I'm in studio...I'm addicted to magazines...when I find things that inspire me or just make me feel good I tear them out and keep them around....I also do this for things that I want in my future home....things that I want to make...stuff like that.....
I need a cork board dedicated to my magazine finds....currently this is what has found its home on my studio desk :) they make me smile....my classmates have figured out that I do this :) the one at the top was from a friend.... we're like a little family here :)
Good night, sweet dreams, say your prayers, and don't let the bed bugs bite.... :)

I'm back! :)
I'm sure I might possibly be in serious trouble with a few for not blogging in sooo long :(
It's been hectic lately and I am trying my best to get back in the swing of having a million and one assignments. Maybe, just maybe I can get it all together this week. :)
I wish that I could share pictures from my camera with you but for some reason they won't open on my laptop (just discovered this about 5 minutes ago). I could have easily freaked out over this, but I decided to try and remain chill about the situation.
I have a construction test on foundations (of houses and buildings) and the first part of my collage project is due tomorrow. So on top of economics from 6 to 8:45 tonight, I have a pretty busy day.
Even though I can't show you the beginnings of my collage (since my camera and laptop decided not to be friends) I thought I would tell you how I did part of it. My idea sprouted from the melting crayon art I made. I needed to be able to manipulate it a little better and actually create defined shapes this time. So I thought I would see how my blow dryer would work with the crayons! I held the blow dryer so it was pointed towards the tip of the crayon until the crayon got to the point of dripping. Then while the dryer was still going I began drawing with the crayon on illustration board! It was so neat! It went on so smoothly and looked more interesting than simply drawing with the crayons. So from now on when you're blow drying your hair.....your thoughts will be....this is actually hot enough to melt a crayon..... my roommate was disturbed by this haha.....whoops! I was just trying to make art :D
Really though! I can't wait to get pictures of it posted! :)
I need a space like this >>>>awesomely cute room! (I couldn't get the picture to load)
I am pretty positive that I could relax in that little window seat :) Yes....I'm daydreaming about it now ;)
Maybe I can get my camera and laptop to come together in harmony and post pictures for you soon!

whoops for not posting yesterday.... please forgive me.
Ok so let me fill everyone in :) I worked Monday morning so that I could have the afternoon off to spend some much needed pool time with my amazing mom. Later that afternoon we (including my dad) headed to watch my sister (who is now a senior, oh my goodness) play softball! It was a gorgeous day for being outside! It has been way toooo hot here lately so it was definitely a nice treat. After some frosty goodness from Wendy's we called it a day and headed home. I stayed at my parents house Monday night. Then Tuesday, before heading to work, I ate lunch with them. They both work in the same town and eat lunch together everyday. While I was still living at home I used to eat lunch with them quite a bit. Now when I get the chance to eat with them, which doesn't happen often, I make it happen! Last night, the roomie and I went to mariachi night at a Mexican restaurant not too far from our apartment. The food was good and the band was entertaining! Definitely a good way to spend the last night of our summer break! :)
I start my fall classes today! It still hasn't hit me yet that classes are starting, possibly because I was in class all summer long. Today I have a photography class! :) Photography has always been interesting to me so I am hoping and praying that I get a good teacher and that it goes well. I am going to attempt renting a camera from the university, if that falls through I might be dipping into my savings.
I posted about pallet beds Monday and I am super excited to try and get some to use for my own bed! If it works out I'll be sure and post pictures of how it turns out :) Here are two more pictures of pallet beds that I found!

This one was done for a reading spot in a nursery. More pictures here>>> Ashley Ann Photography
I love how this one has the extra space at the end.
Ohhh and one more thing before I go! Last Friday night I cooked supper for my family including dessert!
If you're into cooking and trying new things, you should check this one out!
Yummy! :)
Complete with: Coca Pebbles, Marshmallows, Peanut Butter, and Pretzels
This was a lot of fun to make (and eat)! It's made just like rice krispie treats for the most part and then you press pretzels into the top of it and melt peanut butter and drizzle it over the top!
Even better if you enjoy it over a game of dominos with the family!
Happy Humpday! Smile Big :)
