Inkodye and My Baby Sister

First of all...I just wanted to share this awesomeness that I discovered on this blog>>>A Beautiful Mess


Inkodye! (found here) It's dye that is activated by the sun basically and it looks like tons of fun! I would be willing to guess that this might be an awesomely fun thing for the summertime! :D

Might have to invest in some of this soon or ask for it for my birthday! (which is in May, I'm just getting a little pre-excited!) (on second thought I'll be 22 never mind, May can take its time)

Moving on.... :) My sister and I spent about 3 hours in the photography studio Saturday! So much fun for me and her, because she loves being my little model. It also makes for great sister bonding time. Pretty much makes for an awesome time. period. :) 

I was blessed with a beautiful and amazing sister.

She never fails to crack me up.

Love her...

I would also like to say that I am now the daughter of a deacon! Sunday afternoon, my church held an ordination service for my daddy and another man in our church. I am so very proud to be the daughter of such an awesome daddy. I love him with all of my heart and know that he will be an amazing deacon.

Tiny Camper Love :)

So if you know me or if you have been reading this little blog of mine long...you know that I dream of having my own business... :) Having my own little store would cause a serious case of happy dances every day for a long period of time. I plan on making this happen someday....eventually :) 

I try to write my ideas down when some randomness hits me. This morning I stumbled across a photo that made my heart skip a few beats....ahhh don't those moments just make you smile? Anyways, ok let me tell you about it. I have this odd like for those tiny little travel campers, the older retroish ones that came with the pretty blueish-green or yellow stripes. So at this point you;re probably thinking "how did we go from her business to a camper"? What's better than a combo of two things that I dream of!

A little store out of a camper! :D

This would be awesome for festivals and things!

And just to carry on with that dream....I mean you know if I had a big enough store someday

I could just put this cutie inside and use it for display.....better yet I could have two campers!....I could just find one that didn't run to go in my store and keep the other one for traveling....hehe :) *happy dance*

Photographer vs. Model

Since I purchased my camera in August my world has been  a whirlwind....It's hard to believe that I was ever without my camera.....Most of the time I get tired of things fairly quickly...not my camera.

I'll admit there are days when the desire to shoot is just not there...but that's ok. Sometimes you just have to step away from things. I've told a few people that I don't want to just become the girl with the camera....and I mean it I don't....

Just as much as I love my camera and love to be behind it, I have always loved to be in front of one as well. 

Today, I met up with my friend Dupree in studio to work on an assignment.

along with this blog..... 

On another note... :) I got a new toy! I got a Holga lens for my camera. I can't wait to experiment with it this weekend! Hopefully, I will have lots of pictures to share Monday.

Random Objects.....

I think when I am told to do something....like this lighting assignment I have been dealing with....something in my mind immediately goes off and I make it really hard on myself....I should stop that......

Pretty sure, I'm craving some good home cooking right now....not sure where this is coming from or anything but well I mean...I am Southern...I guess it's just part of me ;)


I wish I had pictures to share today...my mom and I made homemade clay like stuff (I like saying stuff when I am not exactly sure what to call it hehe) Friday night. We made different kinds of shapes and things (and one funky looking face...I was, you know, just letting the creativity flow). I made little holes near the top of each shape so I could turn them into necklaces and bracelets. After, we filled a cookie sheet up with our creations, I put them in the oven to bake for two hours. They came out pretty and brown...looking like dog treats....
So, I spray painted them a pretty color I had on hand and I'm wearing one today :D yay!

This is the only picture I have. At this point they were right out of the oven.

I'll try and get some more pictures soon :) I am majorly behind on my picture taking. I also have a vintage carry-on bag that I found at a consignment shop that I need to share. I cleaned it and bought a bag insert to go into it! Best camera bag ever! *happy dance*

Photoshop Fun and a Random Bliss List :)

First and foremost, I'd like to say....Happy Friday! *happy dance* :)

So you know from time to time I post quotes and things. Usually I find them on Pinterest and I just 

post them on here. Today, I have an original! I made this! :) My creative juices are flowing nicely today. hehe ;)

I love both Thoreau and Emerson quotes. They were both brilliant men. This is one of my favorite by Emerson.

I made this masterpiece (hehe just kidding) in Photoshop. Usually, I use Photoshop for tweaking pictures and things that are class related, so this was a first for me! I might just have to look into getting this printed. 

Random Bliss List

1. I could deal with having a window like that. Sure it cold be a 

little creepy I guess, but amazing just the same! Find it here!

3. When I was little my Mamaw had a round wooden cheese box full of

old wooden spools that I would play with....Someday I'll have some for my little ones.

....and I am about to tell you about it!


Not only are these adorable plants... they are also low maintenance!
Yes!
When I say low maintenance, I mean they don't even need dirt. They simply need water about twice a weak, air, and a little sunshine! They are also referred to as air plants.
They look absolutely beautiful in terrariums! (I've been wanting a terrarium for quiet some time now)

The one in the middle is made to resemble a jellyfish! I like to think of this jellyfish as a sweet one....

I took pictures of my baby sister yesterday for a photography assignment. This was my favorite :) I played with it in Photoshop to give it the vintage look.

Good Morning :) 
Where ever you may be this morning, I hope that your day is off to a great start and that you are loving life!


I got up this morning ran a mile or so....got dressed and drove to campus......walked a good half mile to class in this muggy Mississippi weather....got to my classroom....and found a note.....This Class is Cancelled for the Week.....I turned around and walked another half mile to work....


I think I'm good on exercise for the day ;) hehe


I was supposed to have my studio lighting (photography) class this morning and next up on my schedule for today is fashion merchandising.
A couple of years ago, when I was starting my college career, I decide that I was going to take a class in everything until I found something that I really liked. My sweet mommy (yes I still call her mommy, she will never be called mother) reminded me of that this morning. If one class got you a degree (I wish) here's what I would be:  Sociologist, Psychologist, Child Psychologist, Marriage and Family Counselor, Human Growth and Development Specialist, Plant Biologist, Economist, Historian, I'm not sure what you would call one who was very fond of American literature, Sculptor, Photographer, Designer, Artist, Environments for Special Needs Specialist, I know a lot about Textiles and all that goes along with it (down to testing different strands of fiber), I can read and to an extent draw Construction Stuff....oh and one more thing hmmm oh yes! Interior Designer ;)


I'm just saying....you learn a lot in four years....and you change a lot...
I'm on the ultimate adventure.....I'm pouring the slab for the rest of my life and career....
Finding out who I am and what I am good at....and making memories along the way.
Yes, it is very difficult some days and yes, I complain about it too....but if I really think about it and ponder life and stuff ya know... There is no where else that I would rather be.....


I hope your day is beautiful regardless of the mugginess, rain, or whatever else you might be facing....

This whole break was very much needed....I have to admit I slept late... a lot....and didn't exercise.....hardly any.....but every once and a while I think we owe it to ourselves to just enjoy a lot of nothingness and take in everything...


It feels like Christmas was ages ago....it was for sure a busy day but absolutely wonderful....
I got a new lens for my camera that is awesomely awesome! :)


Here are a few that I have taken with it so far....

The pics below were made with the lens but I used nifty little transparent color block thingys to change the color! They were a gift from my mommy :D I like em!

I took this picture in my nene's front yard aiming my camera towards one of those garden ball thingys....I might have to find one of these to keep with me. It helped create a pretty neat picture :)

Pretty sure Santa loves me because he brought me these amazing boots!.....(and The Smurfs new movie)

Anyways! Christmas was wonderful and filled with family (what I adore so much about holidays)!

Hopefully, I can get some pictures from an ice skating adventure uploaded soon! :)

It was wonderful and challenging!

I read a book and washed  my car.....you're probably like huh?

Sorry I just had to share that.....those are things I normally don't have time for :D

So now.....it's 2012

at one point in my life...I thought this would be the year I graduated college.

my how things change... ;)
