Done with Printmaking and Moving on to a New Project!

I have some what recovered from yesterday, when I say recovered I mean I am just holding it all together a little bit better today...Eventually it'll probably get worse before it's completely better but it will all work out in the end.

I am done with printmaking and my collages :) I plan on doing more in my free time...eventually, because free time isn't something I have an abundance of!

Here they are!!
Open
Probably my favorite!

Monochromatic

Earth Tones
My Other Favorite!

Complementary Colors
Blue-Green & Red-Orange

Cool Colors with Warm Accents
I promise these would probably look better in person or if they weren't taken from my phone....

I'm thinking with a frame and maybe not such crazy colors and some different stamps some prints and collages like this would look great framed! I have been playing with the idea of maybe doing a few and framing them and seeing what people's reactions would be at some of the surrounding arts festivals.

New Project >>>> First pick a song or a poem that has an organic object in it. Examples: Strawberries (Strawberry Fields Forever), Flowers (The Rose), Small animals (The Raven), etc.
Then, we have to make the actual object we've chosen using items or an item that relates back to the object in some way.

For example a a bird >>> A girl in one of the previous classes used twigs to create the shape of a bird, because birds build nests out of twigs. It looked awesome wish I had a picture of it to show you guys!

We also have to have an actual image of our object that we've pulled from the Internet using google. From that image we have to match 8 paint samples out of the paint section at Wal-Mart or Lowe's. We have to make some type of color grid from that not exactly sure yet. When I know more I'll try and explain that part a little better. :)

So I deliberated for a while last night on what I could do.....When I do projects like this I like to think outside the box. I like to come up with a concept that the viewer has to think about a little bit more than usual to actually understand it instead of just looking at it and moving on... I like for people to be able to ponder the idea and make it their own. At the same time I want them to understand my motive, and appreciate the thought that I put into the project.

So I decided to do Waiting in the Weeds.... :)

After I made my second post yesterday and found the comment that Don Henley made about the song (see the post before this one if you missed it), the wheels in my crazy brain got to  turning and I'll try to explain the best I can....

Weeds are my organic object. As I explained above I have to make the object (weeds) using something that relates to weeds..... The song is more than just a love song as Henley spoke about in his comment. It is about how The Eagles waited so long (14 years!!!) to put out the long road out of eden album. They waited among the weeds (meaning the bad music years we've been through) and waited for the right time to put it out.

In order to make my weeds I am going to take pages out of magazines that show the likes of bieber, taylor swift, and lady gaga and scrunch/wrap them around wire. I'll probably go over it with a green glaze just to give it a green color. I apologize if this offends anyone that might prefer this type of music. I completely understand and respect the fact that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. :)

After a surprise visit, a heart to heart, and a dinner date with my Aunt Deb last night, I decided that I have three of the best sisters in the world, in my life.... My baby sister of course, my aunt (my mom's sister), and my mom (my aunt's sister).....I know it's a different way to say it and kinda weird but just think about  it, we're all sisters, just not directly to one another :)
There's nothing in this world like a mom, a sister, or an aunt! This way I can just include them all in one line! :)
ok , I know I'm crazy ;)

Hope your Tuesday is going great! :) Smile!

Oh! Here are some pictures from this weekend!
