When I made it to the apartment the munchkin (my sister, this is just one of my many nick names for her) was waiting for me. She came running to my apartment door with her pillow over her head. Once inside she informed me that she brought cokes and lemon cookies because I don't have any junk food. In some ways I guess that could be a complement. I'm not really sure but I think my sister could do without sugar in her system...she's hyper enough as it is ;).
We decided on Umi's for supper (sushi restaurant) and I invited my soon to be roommate and her friend to go with us. My sister wanted to give sushi another shot since the last time she tried it, it was an epic fail.....by epic fail I thought she was scarred for life and would never look at the stuff again. Normally if sushi is mentioned her face describes how she feels about it. It involves her tongue hanging out and rolled eyes. I have to say though I tasted what she decided on ordering last time and we like to describe it as tasting like a hospital. So you can see why I was shocked. Once there she decided to get a sushi roll that someone suggested she try. Thank the Lord, it wasn't round two of epic fail at Umi's. I have to mention that she referred to edamame as snap beans. Gotta love her!
After Umi's we went to Local Culture to get frozen yougurt, we decided it would be ok since we were going to play racquetball afterwards............but the electricity being out sort of ruined our plans and we didn't get to play. I was pretty upset about that but at least now she has a reason to come back and visit me! :)
My project is coming along nicely! I'm super excited to get back to work on it after work today.
This morning before heading to class I had to run by CVS to pick up one of those pre-teenagery magazines that are full of bieber and swift drama (to make the stems of my weeds out of). Tiger Beat, what can I say I was embarrased to pick you up off of the magazine shelf and proceed to the front of the store. Luckily at 7:40 not too many people are in CVS. I put the magazine on the counter....thought to myself that the girl checking me out would probably get a good laugh out of it when i walked out. I should've just smiled insanely and said I have Bieber fever, hugged the magazine to my chest and happily exited the store (as always, I think of what I should've done afterwards).
Through out class today we discussed music, all of it the good, the bad, the just plain ugly, and the stuff we just didn't understand what so ever (Friday by Rebecca Black, Youtube this and you'll see what I mean by we don't understand).
So when I stumbled upon the posters in the center of my Tiger Beat magazine, my teacher realized what I had and he found it necessary to put the one of Justin Bieber on the wall in our studio. Since most art students are opposed to such music it should be hilarious to see the response that this poster gets. We all got a pretty big kick out of the poster and even decided that he needed caption bubbles around his face.
This is what my weeds currently look like.
I'm going to put a green glaze over them so that you can still tell that it's pages from a magazine but they'll resemble a plant a little more. I know they probably look sort of odd at the moment but they'll eventually get there :)
If you need a good laugh check this out :) My sister watched it repeatedly and giggled every time it ended!
Smile :) and have a wonderful night!
