Cheaha State Park, Alabama

Fort Payne Hotel

...Random

I am so very happy that I finally figured out how to upload my pictures to my laptop :) Even though it's time consuming.... The shots above are just a random few that I have taken recently. I played with a few of these in Photoshop.

........and tada! here is my almost finished study model!

Front

Precious little interior....(blank canvas!)

Side

Back door opening and windows...

The model is made out of foam core board and held together by pins. The scale of the model is 1/2" - 1-0'.

The Study model is actually a real building here in town.

Keds :)

Did you know.....that you can design your own Keds!?

Design your very own Keds here!
Even if you aren't going to buy them it's fun to play around with the design thing! (If you come up with a really cute pair....well I mean it's getting close to Christmas!)

When I was little I had a weirdly wide foot....all my sweet mommy could find to fit my little toddler feet just right were darlin' little keds....So now that I am all grown up and stuff I am thinking about another pair of Keds.

They have tons of different styles and some of them are just awesome! I like the black ones but the more I see of the reds one, the more I am really starting to like them!

Tomorrow....I will be building a study model of a building here in town for my Studio II class. I'll be sure and take pictures! If possible I'll also try and squeeze in a Random Bliss List! I have some really neat new finds to show you guys!

Oh yeah! I think I might have found the solution to uploading pictures to this blog from my camera.....goodness technology makes my brain hurt......

Happy Friday Everyone! Ah such lovely weather :)

 I suggest a picnic...... :) and a smile....

studio....

Didn't want you guys to think that I'd forgotten about you............

I'm in studio...I'm addicted to magazines...when I find things that inspire me or just make me feel good I tear them out and keep them around....I also do this for things that I want in my future home....things that I want to make...stuff like that.....

I need a cork board dedicated to my magazine finds....currently this is what has found its home on my studio desk :) they make me smile....my classmates have figured out that I do this :) the one at the top was from a friend.... we're like a little family here :)

Good night, sweet dreams, say your prayers, and don't let the bed bugs bite.... :)

Labor Day Weekend Re-cap!

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

I hope your Labor Day weekend was everything you wanted it to be and more. :) Friday night my family decided on a quick trip to Fort Payne, Alabama! We love Fort Payne and the surrounding little communities, like Mentone! We like this area because it isn't too ridiculously far from home and it's a really laid back area. We absolutely love Little River Canyon (National Preserve)! Click here <<<< for more info! Who knew there was a canyon in Alabama? We didn't until a year or so ago and we've been addicted since we first went.

This picture is from last March (I think that's what month it was) when we went! There isn't always this much water...but even with just a little bit it's still gorgeous.... :) I think you probably see why we like it so :D

We have a tendency to put moma a little on edge when we start venturing this close to enormous drop-offs ;)

Maybe I can get some pictures uploaded soon from this weekend! I took pictures with my camera (for class) as much as I could....

My day off was spent in studio working on the final for the collage project...and I took a break to help my sister find a homecoming dress :)

So this morning I had to get up extra early to dress professionally and put a few finishing touches on my project. I was kind of nervous about presenting but  I felt confident about my work......It went wonderful! I prayed and prayed up until it was my turn to present....I don't think it could have possibly went any better! My professor complimented my work and my presentation :)

This is bigger than it looks....each section is 9 x 20"
The first board is foreground, second is background, third is foreground & background
combined, and the fourth creates depth and was based off inspiration from the other 3.
:)

After class, I walked across campus to get lunch with a friend from class....I don't know about any where else in the world today...but as for here, it is absolutely gorgeous and feels amazing!

I just randomly got a text from the same friend, who happened to stay in studio after I left for work, and she told me that our Studio I teacher (also head of the dept.) saw my project and "really really liked it"....This made my heart skip a beat. This major is a hard one....A lot of people don't realize exactly how much we do and how difficult it can be....    If a professor has something good to say about a project that I have lost hours of sleep over.... I smile big and do a lot of happy dancing :D

I've got lots of catching up to do in microeconomics....ewe...so I better get started reading (and trying not to fall asleep)....

I hope everyone has a wonderful afternoon :)

Random Bliss List

Thank goodness for Friday and a three day weekend! :) I have a new addiction Pinterest! It's a newer website that allows you to create different categories and "pin" things onto those boards. It's pretty neat! It doubles as a source for inspiration too!

Anyways....I'm feeling a Random Bliss List today! yay!!!
pretty sure I'll be making one soon

2. Hans Wegner...Papa Bear Chairs
love love love furniture....especially vintage

This is an artist on etsy's work...check it out! She believes everyone should have art in their home...I agree :)

4. Distressed...
or known as a crackle finish....with ELMER'S GLUE! How cool!
Find info here on this blog >>>> Make the Best of Things
I have always wanted to try this!

click to see it bigger :)

6. Whimsical Bed...
I love bed frames like this one....would be a great place to get away if it had a long flowing canopy...ahhh

7. Cottage....
my dream has always been to live in a cottage.....
I think I could handle this one :)

8. Pant/Skirt Hangers to Display Art...
I love this idea...I picked up two of these hangers the other day...now I just have to find something cool to hang :)

9. Doorbell Face....
I thought this was rather interesting..... hehe

I wonder how hard this would be to do??
If I could do this...then forks would for sure be on my "to find" list for the weekend!

I hope everyone has a beautiful weekend.....maybe possibly have a mini-adventure....or make something unique!

Smile :)

all this from a painting.....

I'm not exactly sure how to say this.....but I created a space from a painting....

this painting to be exact.

I posted a picture of this painting by Lee Krasner week before last maybe? I can't remember.
It had to do with the collage project I have been working on in my Interior Design Studio class. To say the least there have been a few rough moments. This is a very detail oriented class and every thing you do is critiqued and there is always room for improvement. Talk about stress. ;)

Anyways, there are thoughts in my head and tons of analytical drawings on my desk. I can't tell you how much trash (nickname for tracing paper) I have been through and how many times I have just sat and stared at this painting.

Today, after being flustered as all get out for the past two days, I saw it...... I was having a desk critique with my professor (he actually stands over your desk and tells you what he thinks) and I saw this as a space. When I say space I mean an interior :)

One of the collage designs is supposed to have depth...I was working on this and.......I saw it... office space... long curved corridor made up of panels/partitions (maybe suspended from a 12 foot ceiling), these suspended partitions would  allow light to pass over the tops of the panels, this way the space wouldn't be completely closed off..... office spaces/pods off each side of the corridor......I call them pods because in my mind they are unique round office spaces (a play off of the organic shapes in the painting).....

this may not make sense.....but eventually it'll be a model....I'll take pictures :)

all this from an abstract painting........

Happy Thursday! Smile Big :D
